Weather, heat, UV and rain for daily planning

What it solves

The weather module turns temperature, feels-like heat, wind, rain and UV into a practical reading by Greek region. Its goal is to help you decide when to visit ruins, beaches, islands, gorges or cities, especially in summer, when heat can change a visit completely.

How to use it

Select a region to see local conditions and compare them with the rest of Greece. The map is not a full meteorological forecast, but it helps you spot heat, wind, rain or timing issues at a glance.

Practical reading

If the page shows caution for heat or UV, move ruins and hikes to the morning, carry water, wear sun protection and leave museums or transfers for the hottest hours. In autumn and winter, pay attention to rain, wind and mountain roads.

Sources and limits

Hourly data comes from normalized weather services and is contrasted with official sources such as EMY/HNMS and Civil Protection when relevant alerts exist. Greece Hoy helps you plan; it does not replace local instructions, site closures or tour operator decisions.

Weather sources

This module collects hourly regional data from Google Weather API and keeps EMY/HNMS and Civil Protection as official contrast sources for weather alerts.

Collection runs server-side: the public website reads the updated JSON without exposing keys or consuming Google calls on every visit.

Greece Hoy helps with planning, but it does not replace official alerts or local authority instructions.
